He has shared the stage with Jerry Garcia, Tommy Emmanuel, and John Renbourn; played for President of the United States; had his music played on American Idol, Martha Stewart Living, and NPR; and performed and taught throughout the US and Europe.
His original arrangements range from the deep sensitivity of the folk classic "Water Is Wide" to the intensity of Tom Petty's "Breakdown" and exuberance of the jazz classic "In the Mood."
Mark and his wife, Greta Pedersen, founded Accent On Music LLC in 1985, publishing his many titles and hosting the annual Accent On Music Fingerstyle Guitar Seminar in Portland, Oregon. Performers/teachers such as Tommy Emmanuel, John Renbourn, Alex DeGrassi and Laurence Juber have joined Mark for the fest. With a degree in music from Stanford University, Mark applies his considerable knowledge, enthusiasm, and creative sensibilities to the art of fingerstyle guitar.

La Conner Guitar Festival proudly presents:

Saturday — May 18th — 7 pm to 9 pm

An Evening With

Tony McManus

Tony McManus has come to be recognized throughout the world as the leading guitarist in Celtic Music. From early childhood his twin obsessions of traditional music and acoustic guitar have worked together to produce a startlingly original approach to this ancient art. In Tony’s hands the complex ornamentation normally associated with fiddles and pipes are accurately transferred to guitar in a way that preserves the integrity and emotional impact of the music.

Plus Special Guest:

Sean Hall

Sean Hall is a modern fingerstyle guitarist from Bellingham, WA. Weaving beautiful melodies with lush harmonies and percussive elements, Sean's performances invite audiences to experience the melodic landscapes he creates. Sean has toured extensively in 48 states and over 20 countries, winning the Epic Records national competition and being featured at The Gorge Amphitheater. His debut solo guitar recording of original compositions is produced by renowned guitarist and producer Antoine Dufour with co-arrangement by Calum Graham and Trevor Gordon Hall. Inspired by trail blazers such as Michael Hedges, Alex Degrassi and Phil Keaggy, Sean strives to continue the legacy of smashing the boundaries of what can be done on the acoustic guitar.
